Masterbatch-MB, is a concentrated mixture of pigments and additives thoroughly dispersed in a polymer and supplied in a small granule.
The Masterbatch granule is easy to redisperse in the polymer system without spots and nibs and ideally the polymer selected for the masterbatch should be the same as the polymer to be coloured or at least be compatible.
The masterbatch is formulated for a 1 or 2% addition, although certain additive masterbatches may require higher addition levels, depending on the specification.

Pigment Dispersion-PD, is a highly concentrated mixture of pigments and additives thoroughly dispersed in a liquid component, which is compatible with the polymer system to be coloured.
These pigmnet dispersion are used for PVC - flexible and Polyurethane systems. The viscosity of the pigment dispersion paste can be "butter-like", alternatvely it may be flowing, suitable for pumping and metering.
In all cases the paste is consistent with regards to colour and will not change colour during processing.
Polyvinyl chloride-PVC, is a widely-used plastic. In terms of revenue generated, it is one of the most valuable products of the chemical industry. Polyvinyl chloride is produced by polymerization of the monomer, vinyl chloride as shown. PVC is a hard plastic that is made softer and more flexible by the addition of plasticizers, the most widely used being phthalates.
Thermoplastic elastomer-TPE, is a material which is both a thermoplastic (i.e., can be melted and cooled to the same state) and an elastomer (i.e., rubbery). Most elastomers are thermosets; in contrast, thermoplastic elastomers are relatively easy to use in manufacturing, for example, by injection molding.
Thermoplastic Urethane-TPU, is a specific compound. This ethyl ester is a white crystalline substance produced by the action of ammonia on ethyl carbonate or by heating urea nitrate and ethyl alcohol. It is used as a hypnotic, antipyretic, and antispasmodic. Generally, a urethane is an ester of a carbamic acid.
